Discover Hidden Oasis in Murray Canyon

Wow! This is a different kind of hike. You won’t get to a peak with a grand vista, but the journey through the canyon with the variety of rock formations and palm groves was spectacular. There are also some nice views into the valley along the way. I classify this as an easy to moderate hike. There are a few technical parts for those that have balance issues (crossing water on rocks and climbing over some rock formations). There is a $12 fee per person to enter the reservation, but it was worth it.

Beautiful hike. Very long though. Water shoes are a must! So glad I brought mine! Start early, park opens at 8am. I will say there is horse poop everywhere because horses are allowed for some reason? So it stinks like poop & kinda ruins the hike.

One of the most scenic trails I've ever been to. Highly recommended, expect to get your feet wet, as you will be crossing many different streams, some you would have to step in the water. I wore waterproof hiking boots and it was perfect. We hiked Murray trail and from the car the whole trip was 4,5 miles but it's mostly flat so pretty easy. I also recommend coming early, this trail is very popular so it gets kind of crowded. We started at 8:30 and on the way back there were tons of upcoming hikers. Loved the trail overall, will come back!

Great trek through Palm oases to a waterfall. Trail crosses over small creeks a number of times. This can be a bit challenging if you don't have good footwear so be sure to bring trail shoes or hiking boots.

The area is gorgeous in the mountains and with palm trees once you hike further down the trail. Many places have more rocks and streams to cross than an actual trail, so be ready for some adventures. That made it fun for me! One of the trails leads to a small under rocks waterfall, which was ok. Ample parking if going in morning soon as it opens. You do have to pay to park.
