For the best experience, visit in March or early April when the flowers are in full bloom. Great spot. Can get a bit too busy during peak season. We were able to enjoy a few lies but also saw people cutting them. Appalling! We spend our time here after a rainy night so the trail, especially the rates near the lilies was a bit wet. Bring hiking shoes or some shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. The whole experience around this area is about 1-2 hours if you also go around the different trails. Enjoy and protect the area!

Pretty valley with lilies at the bottom before the ocean/beach. It’s a mild 5-10min walk to the bottom on a dirt road from the “North” entrance there is an entrance South of the valley as well. Recommend shoes cause it can get muddy but lots of people were in sandals as well. I would be comfortable taking kids on this trail and consider taking an older relative who can do stairs. You don’t have to go over the makeshift bridges but will have more access to different sections if you do.

Garrapata’s Calla Lily Valley is nothing short of magical! ☀️🤍 Fairly easy walk/hike leading up to this hidden gem where beautiful white lilies stand tall against the rugged Big Sur coastline. It was an absolutely gorgeous sunny day which made the views even more breathtaking! Totally worth the trip!

Nice beach after short trail, Calla Lily are highlight of the beach. Also spotted other beautiful flowers on trail. In April 2025, Also spotted thousands of dead Velella Velella, read about it to know why they are dying and dead shells are coming to shore. No restrooms. The beach is really clean and quiet.
